“Ho, ev’ry one thirsting!” The voice of the Lord,
In accents with tenderness rife,
Inviteth the weary and faint, thro’ His word,
“Come ye to the waters of life!”
Refrain
“Come ye to the waters of life!”
From scenes of earth’s sorrows and strife!
Resist not the love flowing down from above:
“Take freely the water of life!”
“Ho, ev’ry one thirsting” the sin laden soul,
The lonely, the hopeless, the lost!
God’s waters of mercy, that heal and make whole
Come, take, without money or cost.
“Ho ev’ry one thirsting!” ‘Tis Jesus who calls,
The Saviour who died on the tree:
He offers from glory, ere penalty falls,
Life’s waters to you and to me.
“Ho ev’ry one thirsting!” receive ye the gift,
And peace in each bosom shall dwell:
Christ in you, for ever, each soul shall uplift
A life giving, upspringing Well!
