The Lord Jesus
Left the glory and love of the
     Father’s presence
To come to earth to be …
Abused, ridiculed, beaten,
Mocked, whipped, humiliated,
     crucified.
Wonderful love!

He who did no sin,
Who knew no sin,
Who hated sin because He was holy,
Willingly became sin for us
And bore our sins.
Wonderful love!

He who had been in the bosom of the
     Father,
Who was one with the Father,
Who always did the will of the
     Father,
Who had loved and been loved by the
     Father through all eternity,
Was forsaken by God in order to bear
     the judgment for our sins.
Wonderful love!
