Fragment

I thank Thee, O my gracious God,
For all Thy love to me,
As deep, as high, as long, as broad,
As Thine eternity.

And when I far from Thee did rove
In paths of sin and shame,
'Twas then Thou called me in Thy love, '
And gav'st me to the Lamb.

Oh, happy day when, drawn by love
To Thee, my Saviour-God,
My guilty conscience came to prove
The power of Jesus' blood!

And happier still Himself to know,-
The changeless One on high,
Whose love led Him to stoop so low
To suffer and to die.

Praise-praise to Thee, my God, I give,
Who gav'st Thy Son for me!
I'll render praises while I live,
And through eternity's.
