To Whom is it most important that we be seen as a good Christian?

Question:
To Whom is it most important that we be seen as a good Christian?

Answer:
God – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

We are to “please Him” (2 Timothy 2:4), and He will direct us to be a witness to others. Jesus tells us to “let [our] light so shine before men that they may see [our] good works and glorify [our] Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:15,16). Good Christians are so occupied with Christ that they don’t consider themselves great Christians. This was true of John the Baptist (John 3:30). We are to “press toward the mark for the prize of the calling on high” (Philippians 3:13, 14, J. N. Darby translation). A good Christian has a real desire for the Word of God and he searches the Scriptures (Acts 17:11).
