What does it mean to truly fear God?

Answer:

Often the Bible speaks of fear to indicate ‘godly fear’ or reverence to the Lord, such as Hebrews 12:28: “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”

However, those who do not know Christ as their Savior have every reason to be afraid of the Lord, such as in Matthew 10:28: “Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him [God] which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
