Why was the book of Hebrews written to Jewish Christians?

To encourage those who were being persecuted; because things that had been taught in the Old Testament had now passed away; to show the Excellency of Christ to Old Testament law, prophets, Moses, and angels; and to establish Christ’s superior priesthood and sacrifice.
